That irresistibly Sweet Highlife!

Packed in irresistible highlife, the young band Santrofi is a brand new group of young musicians from the Ghanaian capital of Accra, led by bassist Emmanuel Ofori (known for Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band and Ebo Taylor). 

 

The band creates a new highlife powerhouse consisting of extraordinary talent, playing this beautiful rhythm and synthesizer style, created in the early 20th century.

 

Perfectly combined rhythms, melodies and idioms, multiple guitars, groovy bass lines, traditional Ghana percussion, unique horn arrangements and background vocals create a congenial, exciting, swinging, fresh and tropical sound.

 

The band has several vocalists, and different singers take turns in front of the microphone. In addition, the multi-instrumentalists swap instruments during the show.

 

This has been a great time for Ghana's music, and Santrofi comes to represent the new generation with the blessing of the masters.
