NILZA COSTA

Nilza Costa is a Brazilian singer and songwriter born in Salvador, Bahia, where the heart beats together with African ancestral rhythms. In 2021, Nilza launch her third album, Le notti di San Patrizio. Her deep and dark voice guides you through eight original tracks. 

 

Nilza is the spokeswoman of the revolution of her people, who also thanks to their music and spirituality, have found their way of emancipation.  In her singing traditional forms of musical Brazilian culture, such as Candomblé, Capoeira, Samba, Maculelê and Cantigas de Roda, are transfigured filtered in a striking and original way. Her personal and artistic life enriched by many live exhibitions and renowned collaborations. 

 

Her début album, "Revolution, Rivoluzione, Revoluçào", is a fascinating trip through the best World Music and it mingles Afro jazz with Samba, and Blues. "Roots" is her second album, released in October 2016. The ten songs narrate her life with melancholy, religiousness and poetry.
