The singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, award-winning writer and one of the most respected thinkers of his generation, Mario Lucio, is on Amplifica Music's Roster !

 

The Cape Verdean artist is the author of hundreds of songs in the main styles of his land, and the production quality and permanent research work give a modern and original air to his music, so much so that he recently received the "Prix de la Musique", from the French Academy of Music. Mario Lucio thus becomes the second Cape Verdean musician to be awarded this prestigious distinction, after Cesária Évora, in 1995, received this prize, considered the French equivalent of the Grammy, awarded annually to great albums on the world music scene.

 

He will present at Festivals/Venues around the world in  2023/2024 with the recent album "Migrants"  accompanied by the group Os Kriols, formed by five instrumentalists who explore the incredible Creole sound. An album that pays tribute to the human epic and the audacity of our ancestors.
