Each voice is one woman.

The celestial voice and distinctive timbre of Virgínia Rodrigues is back with a new album “Cada voz é uma mulher” with the musical production of Leonardo Mendes and Tiganá Santana.

For the first time, Virgínia brings together powerhouse voices from women of different generations that comes from Brazil and Africa countries that suffered under Portuguese colonization, such as Mozambique, Cape Verde and Angola and stitches dialogues between them.

With special participation of Mayra Andrade and Lenna Bahule among others, the album carries a symbolic nine tracks represented by Iyaba (Queen mother in the afro-brazilian religion candomble). The audacious combination of percussion and Virgínia’s early connections with choir and the erudite music is also explored.

Her sensuous vocals celebrate the feminine world and embodies its many facets with extraordinary sophistication.
